Pharaohs: Tutankhamen
Tutankhamen (see figure 15.1) was born in 1341 B.C. He was the twelfth pharaoh of the Egyptian 18th dynasty.
He had advisers that were powerful and they restored the traditional Egyptian religion that was set aside before by his predecessor Akhenaton. Akhenaton was responsible of the "Amarna Revolution." |
Tutankhamen sadly died at the age of 18 in 1323 B.C. Tutankhamen's tomb was one of the only Egyptian tombs that have not be lightened of its treasures by thieves. Tutankhamen was a young but respected king. Over his short life we can see that because of his age people tried to take advantage of him.
